Things may change..but memories remain

I've been back for about a month now and I guess it's not too bad here. I was very happy that there was free wifi in the train when I arrived early in the morning, hooray :)! Not so happy hearing Dutch all around me again, but I quickly got used to it. Took a taxi home to stay "undercover" and everything had changed...they were building houses, new roads, etc. everywhere, it was weird, it confirmed that I really had been away for a while. Went home first and saw my mom, gave her some souvenirs, talked for a bit and went up to start unpacking. Something I always like to do right away, just to get it over with. I was meeting a friend for happy hour later that day and I got to surprise some other friends in the evening :). It was a blast. Oh and finally back on my bicycle! Felt good, still a piece of freedom, wind blowing through my hair.

And that's what I've been doing for the last weeks, seeing my friends and family again, sharing stories. And it's funny, seeing so many beautiful things while I was away, it made me look at my homecity different too, the beauty it offers :). I've also been busy getting rid of a lot of stuff, clothes, etc. When you live out of a backpack for 7months, you realize you really don't need a lot more, at least not everything that was waiting for you at home.

I also went to see my car, my little smurf and what do you know, it still works..MICRA POWERRR :)...it has been growing a little mold on the inside haha...then again it's a 20year old car and it can get pretty moist during cold and wet months, so it was expected. After a couple of minor surgeries and cleaning the inside, it was approved for another year and I, well we were back on the road. Together..at last haha.

Trying to find a job as well, something temporarily again of course...since I already started planning my next trip :). But for that I need money...so I might be working a bit longer than expected..following dreams might be hard work...but totally worth it!
